The Villa International Home Theater Sofa©

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – March 16, 2004 – Home theater entertainment hits the road with Villa International’s new Home Theater Sofa©.  No cinema experience ever felt this comfortable, with over-stuffed cushions, soft leather upholstery and individual footrest/incliner functioning.

Introduced today at the FMCA Convention in Albuquerque (Booth #328), the Home Theater Sofa is customizable to accommodate two to four viewers and includes individual armrests complete with beverage holders.  Motion picture excitement is delivered through optional dual speakers built right into the sofa for systems that include rear channel audio.  Other options include pull down snack trays, underneath storage drawers and a variety of colors to choose from.

“This is a real glimpse into the future,” said Villa Vice President of Sales Robert Long.  “As popular as the private cinema experience has become at home, there’s no reason why people shouldn’t be able to take it with them when they travel.”

Villa International Expands Manufacturing Capacity

With New Facility in Elkhart, Ind.

RV Furniture Builder Strengthens Service Capabilities

For Midwest, Eastern Customers

ANAHEIM, Calif.February 2, 2003 -- RV furniture manufacturer Villa International announced today it has completed the purchase of a new manufacturing facility in Elkhart, Ind.  The 45,000 square foot facility, located at 4733 Eastland Drive, doubles Villa’s manufacturing capacity, supplementing its existing 50,000 square foot facility at its headquarters in Anaheim, Calif.

According to Andy Greenthal, company president, the acquisition will also allow Villa to improve customer service, by conducting a substantial portion of its manufacturing in closer proximity to both customers and suppliers.

“Obviously, a great deal of the recreational vehicle industry is centered in Indiana,” Greenthal said.  “This was the logical place to expand, while at the same time allowing us to work more efficiently with our customer base.”

The additional plant capacity was necessitated by the growing demand for Villa’s high-end RV furniture products – driver seats, sofas, recliners and dinettes – from both original equipment manufacturers and consumers in the aftermarket.  Initially, the company plans to transfer production of its popular driver and passenger seats exclusively to the Elkhart plant.

Tom Nickel, a 16-year RV industry veteran and Elkhart native, has been hired to manage the Elkhart operation.  Nickel stated that his focus will be on helping Villa successfully meet that increasing demand.

“One of the keys to success in our industry is the flexibility to meet changing consumer preferences,” Nickel said.  “We want to make sure that we’re doing everything we can to help enable our OEM customers’ success, and that means being able to respond quickly to consumer needs, both in production and service.”

The new Elkhart facility required very little re-fabrication on Villa’s part, as the company continues to eschew large-scale factory automation in favor of its hallmark handcrafted approach to furniture manufacturing.

“Villa products have always been known for the highest standards of quality design, style and workmanship,” said Villa Vice President of Sales Robert Long.  “With this new facility in Elkhart, we will be able to bring that superior level of quality to an even greater portion of the RV industry.”

Villa International Introduces Improved 3-Point Driver’s Seat©

At RVIA Convention

RV Industry Invited to “Test Drive” New Models

ANAHEIM, Calif.December 2, 2003 Villa International introduced its new line of improved 3-Point Driver’s Seats© at the 41st Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky., today.  The new line of driver’s seats, which includes the Rockwell, Carnegie and Montague models, were developed to provide the highest level of driver comfort in the industry.  Features include new, softer contoured cushioning, a wider seating area, and greater interior mobility – in addition to the convenience of Villa’s unique self-contained three-point harnessing system.

“In terms of amount of use, the driver and passenger seats are among the most important items in a motor home,” said Robert Long, vice president of sales for Villa.  “We’ve put a lot of research into exactly what individuals look for in a driver’s seat and incorporated those findings into our latest models.”

The result is what Villa feels is the most comfortable driver’s seat ever built.  To test that belief, Villa is inviting attendees of the RVIA trade show to “test drive” the seats for themselves.  Villa will have a number of the new models on display, for attendees’ viewing and seating pleasure, at its booth #W78-80.

According to Long, one of the most common complaints people have with their current driver’s seat is unwanted pressure on the knees.  Villa has found a way to eliminate that problem by reconfiguring the dimensions of the chair itself.  The re-engineered seats provide more room for the sitter and take up less space in the cockpit.

“Our new driver and passenger seats will fit a wider range of people, and will fit into a greater variety of motorhomes, than anything that has come before,” Long said.  “It’s all about helping to make the RV experience as attractive as possible for the ultimate customer, the millions of motorhome enthusiasts who are looking for the best in life on the road.”

Motorhome Makeover

A Before & After Story

ANAHEIM, Calif.August 15, 2003

Before Terry Guinn came to Villa International, his recently purchased 1998 Winnebago Ultimate Freedom had one major problem.  There wasn’t anything wrong with the vehicle itself.  Terry had bought the diesel pusher second hand, but had found it to be in excellent condition: low mileage, single owner, well-maintained.  On the outside, and under the hood, this was a dream coach.

The challenges were to be found inside the coach.  After five years, the furnishings and fabric selections seemed outdated.  More importantly, the floor plan didn’t work for Terry and his family.

The previous owners had been a retired couple who traveled on their own.  The existing sofas were small and impractical.  Outside of the bedroom, there was nowhere for anyone to sleep.  Meanwhile, a stand-alone dinette, with four large dining chairs, was squeezing out valuable space in the main cabin.

Terry’s family needed something different.  Their family included three daughters, with whom they made frequent, short trips over weekends and holidays.  Meals for them were always on the run.

They didn’t need a family dining table, they needed plenty of space to lounge around during the day and room for everyone to sleep at night.  And they needed furniture with comfort and style that better reflected the tastes of their family.

After working with their Villa International sales representative, the Guinns were able to create a dream interior to go along with the rest of their dream coach.

The centerpiece of the Villa-designed floor plan was a first-of-its-kind custom sofa lounge Villa called the “Double-J Ensemble.”

The Double-J Ensemble is really two sleeper sofas, built side-by-side, with a padded center arm and beds for as many as four people.  One end of the sofa extends into the galley area and is equipped with a dinette table.

Opposite the Double-J, Villa placed a second, traditional j-lounge sofa that can also be used as a double sleeper.  The Guinns also selected Driver and Passenger seats with integrated seat belts, power lumbar, heat, and massage.  As Terry Guinn said when he saw the final result:  “It would sure be great if every coach came with this kind of interior style and functionality, but if that’s not possible, it’s good to know that Villa is here to make this kind of a dream come true!”

Villa International Launches “EasyGuide” Program

To Simplify RV Furniture Purchases

“After Market No Longer an After Thought”

ANAHEIM, Calif.April 21, 2003 Villa International, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-end recreational vehicle furniture, has launched a new program expressly for consumers.  Now existing RV owners can purchase a full range of high quality RV furniture – driver’s seats, sofas, recliners and dinettes – directly from Villa’s manufacturing center in Anaheim, California.

The initiative, the first of its kind to specifically address the after market  needs of consumers, is a direct response to increasing demand for more readily available furniture options within the RV community.  At the heart of the program is Villa’s new EasyGuide© ordering system, a user-friendly process for confirming the furniture style, fabric, measurements and options that meet each customer’s specific interior needs.

The EasyGuide© order form is accessible at Villa’s updated web site (www.villainternational.com) or by calling 888-707-7272.

“Historically, this has been an under served market, making RV furniture buying a daunting task – from just finding a supplier, to measuring, upholstering and installing the piece you like,” said Villa Vice President of Sales Robert Long.

“At Villa International, we’ve changed all that,” Long said.  “We’ve made it easy now for consumers to obtain just the right piece of furniture to complement their ideal RV lifestyle.”

Villa International has been making hand-built, custom furniture for the RV industry since 1969, selling primarily to RV manufacturers whose top-of-the-line coaches require the ultimate in quality furnishings.  Recently, however, Villa has seen an increase in demand among consumers who want to incorporate that same sense of style and comfort into their existing motor home’s interior design.

“It makes all the sense in the world,” Long said.  “For RV owners who aren’t financially prepared yet to trade up to that next highest model, or who simply want to update the look and feel of their current motor coach, Villa provides an ideal solution for enhancing their RV experience.”

Villa International is the world’s leading manufacturer of high quality recreational vehicle furniture.  Villa furniture can be found in the top-of-the-line coaches of nearly every major motorhome manufacturer in the U.S. and is available for after market purchase by consumers through its web site at www.villainternational.com.  Headquartered in Anaheim, Calif., Villa International will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2005.
